As she passed by an unusually spiked-leaf tree in the Native Plant Garden at the New York Botanical Gardens I made a Gestalt and merged the two.
This piece, Spiked Hair, reflects the “what if” feeling I had at that moment when I imagined this joining of person, tree and colorful birds alighting upon the long, slender and graceful fronds. Not all that improbable I think. You?
