The intrigue of carved carousel creatures.

It’s it’s own universe orbiting round and round a cacophonous musical core of pipes, toots, clangs and bells; an artfully carved and intricately constructed platform of varying creatures, large and small, herbivores and carnivores, hunters and grazers, gallopers and stalkers, jumpers, hoppers and flyers. A grand experimental combination of zoology, domestication and behaviors, heard-like and moving in unison in one direction, albeit it pinned to their places.

Their beauty is testament to the artistry of those who conceived, carved, colored, distilled and put each in perfect and dynamic gestures.

Conquering my childhood fears and making them friendlier

There is the one universe of entertainment for which they were created to enthrall and excite to allow riders young and old to hoist themselves up or sit in the carved chariots and imagine times, places and deeds of imagination.

There is another universe I imagine for these creature’s of frozen emotions, tortured gestures, and possible interactions amongst themselves.

That’s what I imagine is there. Each a portrait of the individual’s personality, predicament and intension.
